Research interests: historiography of the World war II, ethnocentrism in historiography and school textbooks, comparative jurisprudence, education policy

In 2004 he graduated from the History department of Lipetsk State Pedagogical University. In november 2008 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences (PhD). Theme of it: "The reflection of the history of World war II in the content of domestic and foreign school history education". In 2012, in the Lipetsk State Technical University, he received a degree in the speciality "Jurisprudence".

From 2002 to 2004 he worked in high school № 31, Lipetsk, as a teacher of history. From 2004 to 2006 - in school № 50 of Lipetsk. In 2007 he joined the Lipetsk State Pedagogical University as a senior lecturer and then associate professor (docent) of social sciences and humanities. In parallel, in 2007-2012 V. Kovrigin worked in Voronezh Institute of economics and law in the position of assistant professor of social and economic disciplines. From 2010 to 2012 - he is a head of the Department of Voronezh Institute.

From 2007 - 2017 - he is an associate professor (docent) of Lipetsk State Pedagogical University. From 2015 - as Associate Professor of the Plekhanov Russian Economic University.

V. Kovrigin is the author of one book and about 45 reseach papers.
